Welcome to my personal fundraising page for my grant fund created by myself and 3 other founding members of PALs; Patient Alumni Leadership group at PCH; Phoenix Children's Hospital.
My journey here at PCH started 28 years ago when I spent the first month of my life in the NICU at PCH in September of 1984. My journey at PCH did not end there; I would like to invite you to celebrate my 28th birthday in a way you may not expect - by supporting Phoenix Children's Hospital, where I overcame cancer exactly 2 decades ago. On September 14, 2012 I will be 20 years cancer-free! A cancer survivor thanks to PCH, my family, and the Lord.
As you may know, cancer still affects too many children, yet PCH continues to save lives and provide the family-centered care that meant so much to me and my family 20 years ago. The needs are great at PCH because the hospital must rely on community support to care for kids.
It's easy to give - just donate here through my personal fundraising page and you can make a gift that celebrates my life while also supporting a place where I recovered, where I volunteered, and where I now work. In my role as a Certified Child Life Specialist, I see up-close the needs of our families and how PCH tries to meet those needs.
You may ask; who is PAL's? We are a group of past patients, siblings, and family members who have a personal story about PCH, a heart for family centered care, and a passion for philanthropy. We are committed to advancing the family-centered care that we received that made a difference in our lives through fundraising and financially supporting programs and activities that benefit patients and their families on a personal and day to day level. We strive for our yearly grant to increase the quality of patients and families experiences at PCH through activities, resources, innovations, and programs that positively affect patients and their families at PCH.
