What is the Phoenix Children’s Hospital 5K?

The Phoenix Children’s Hospital 5K is the only signature 5K run/walk held by Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation. The idea that we can do something for others by staying active is at the heart of the PCH 5K. It unites the community, our patient families, employees, athletes, and volunteers by giving them a common goal: to reach the finish line for Phoenix Children's Hospital.

 

Do I need to be an Olympic runner to do this 5K?

Absolutely NOT! There are plenty of other great 5Ks out there to test speed and performance. Phoenix Children’s Hospital 5K is all about coming together to support our patients and families. You can run, walk, crawl, or even cartwheel if you wish!

 

How much is registration?

  • 5K Run/Walk - Adult - $40.00
    Age 16 and above
  • 5K Run/Walk - Youth - $20.00
    Ages 4 - 16 (ages 3 and younger are free)
  • 1-Mile Dash - Adult - $40.00
    Age 16 and above
  • 1-Mile Dash - Youth - $20.00
    Ages 4 - 16 (ages 3 and younger are free)
  • Virtual Walker - $40.00 Adults // $20.00 Youth
    I can't attend but I want to show my support (includes runner swag bag)

 

What is included with my registration?

Each registered participant will receive a 2017 event tee, a fun twist on a participation medal (trust us, you won’t be disappointed!), and admission to the Post-Race Festival.

 

Do I have to fundraise?

While fundraising is not required to participate, it is strongly encouraged! Please log into your personalized walk center to discover new ways to fundraise! New this year, we have some really great incentive prizes you can earn as a 'Thank You' from us for all of your hardwork! Remember, 100% of proceeds from Phoenix Children’s Hospital 5K and the 1 Mile Dash is for the kids! 

 

How do I fundraise?

Register as a participant and follow the easy steps to set-up your fundraising page. You can customize your page with your own personal message!

The easiest way to raise money is to ask your friends and family to donate to your page. Share your fundraising page link on social media and through email so they can donate through a secure site with their credit card. You can also accept cash and/or checks.

 

Can I collect donations offline?

Absolutely! Offline donations (cash and checks) will be counted toward your fundraising total and can be mailed to:

Include an offline donation form with your check(s) payable to “Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation” or "PCHF". So you and your team get credit, include your name and your team name. It may take up to seven business days to process your donation and have it reflected on your fundraising page.

 

Does my registration fee count toward my fundraising goal?

No. Your registration fee helps cover the cost of planning and managing the event. So, unfortunately, it is not tax-deductible and does not count toward your fundraising total.

 

I need some help fundraising. Do you have any tips?

You bet! In addition to the coaching emails available in your participant center, we have also put together some handy tips and resources located on the Participant Resources page.  

 

Where can I find Phoenix Children's Hospital's Tax ID number?

For your records, our tax ID number is 74-2421549.

 

If I register before my team captain, can I still join his or her team?

Yes. Once your team captain has registered, go to your personal fundraising page and click on the drop down box and chose the team you would like to join and click on “Save Fundraising Changes”. You won't have the option to join the team until he or she has registered.

 

Can I join a team after I've completed the registration process?

Absolutely! At any time after you register, you can go to your personal fundraising page and click on the drop down box and chose the team you would like to join and click on “Save Fundraising Changes”.

 

Will there be food and drinks?

There will be plenty of treats at the Post-Event Festival for you and your team! In addition, CityScape offers many wonderful restaurants!

 

Can we bring wheels?

Strollers, wheelchairs and other mobility aids are welcome! However, please leave the roller skates, skate boards, and bicycles at home.

 

How about the dog? Can our furry friend join our team?

Yes! Teams with dogs are asked to start in the back.

 

When and where is packet pick-up?

Be on the lookout for emails approximately 10 days prior to event day! We promise we will let you know what to do and where to go!

 

Can someone else pick up my race packet for me?

Of course!  Often times a team captain will pick up packets for the entire team. If this is the case, send them with a printed or electronic confirmation email.

 

What happens if there is bad weather?

A little rain won’t stop us! If severe weather is in the forecast, check your email for cancellation notices.
