Some of the largest construction companies in the valley have come together to create this one-of-a kind experience for Phoenix Children’s patients.

This private, invite only event promotes healing for some of Arizona’s sickest kids while also sparking curiosity and wonder for our construction community. The Big Dig for Kids Board of Directors has committed to raising $1,000,000 for Phoenix Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders' MIBG Targeted Therapy program.

Since partnering with Phoenix Children's in 2019, Big Dig for Kids has raised over $1.4 million for our Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

Your donation will benefit Phoenix Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. Specifically, the introduction of MIBG therapy, a first opportunity for our state to provide this lifesaving treatment. Neuroblastoma, a form of cancer, accounts for 6% of childhood cancers in the United States. MIBG therapy is a type of radiation therapy used to kill cancer cells in children. It is a way to get radiation inside a child’s body to target cancer cells wherever they are while preserving healthy cells. There are only 22 hospitals in the country that currently offer MIBG treatments and currently there aren’t any in Arizona. The Big Dig for Kids event raises funds to support the construction of Arizona’s first MIBG treatment facility at Phoenix Children’s.

At Phoenix Children’s, we see a future in which we make premier pediatric care accessible to every child who needs it—and we need your help to get there. It costs nearly $2.7 million per day to operate Phoenix Children’s. All patients are accepted, and about 50 percent of patient families have little or no private medical insurance. The support of our community ensures that all children have access to world-class health care. And that makes all the difference for kids who are fighting for their lives.
