PALS Renewal with BLS Integrated Renewal- Pediatrics Advanced Life Support - May 23rd, 2012

Course Requirements:

Bring the Following to class:

1) A current PALS and BLS Card..

2) The pre-course material must be done prior to coming to class.  A copy of the completion certificate will be collected on the first day of class.  The web site for this material can be found in the student manual.

3) A Current American Heart Association PALS manual. Per AHA, all students must have a current AHA course textbook for their individual use before, during, and after the course. Students are expected to review the textbook before class and have immediate access to their own copies afterwards as a reference and review tool. Textbooks are designed for use and are a integral part of PALS education. It is important to have a current version of the manual. They can be purchased from Clinical education for $40 (exact cash or personal check) or online from Worldpoint.

The goal of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support course is to provide the learner with:  Information needed to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest.  The cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize infants and children in respiratory failure, shock or cardiopulmonary arrest.

Target Audience:  Pediatricians, house staff, emergency physicians, family physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists and other healthcare providers who are responsible for the well being of infants and children.

BLS renewal during PALS is ONLY available to those registered for the same day PALS course. If you only need the BLS renewed, this is the wrong class.

Course Requirements:

One week prior to your BLS skills check-off at PALS you will receive an email including your "Key", a passcode for the online portion of the class with American Heart Association. The skills check will be completed during PALS.

Please bring the following required items to your BLS check off at PALS

  •  A printed CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION from the online portion of the class 
  •  A current BLS card

**** If both of the Required Items are not brought to class, you will be refused admittance!

Withdrawal Information and Procedure:

Please note that cancellation for this class is possible by self-withdrawal up to 3 business days prior to class.  Within 3 business days of class, cancellations should be made by email at cne@phoenixchildrens.com and require a minimum of 48 hours notice..

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION: By registering for Integrated BLS During PALS you acknowledged that you have read and understood the descriptions and prerequisites for enrolling in this class. Enrollment in this class is ONLY available to those who have also registered for the same day PALS course.  All other enrollments will be withdrawn and check-offs will not be granted.
