Please BRING your current AHA BLS card.  Your current Basic BLS card is required for any Advanced PALS class!

Course Requirements:

Bring the Following to class:

1) A current AHA BLS Card

2) The pre-course material must be done prior to coming to class.  A copy of the completion certificate will be collected at the beginning of class.  The web site for the PALS pre-test can be found in the PALS student manual.

3) A Current American Heart Association PALS manual. Per AHA, all students must have a current AHA course textbook for their individual use before, during, and after the course. Students are expected to review the textbook before class and have immediate access to their own copies afterwards as a reference and review tool. Textbooks are designed for use and are a integral part of PALS education. It is important to have a current version of the manual. They can be purchased from Clinical education for $40 (exact cash or personal check) or online from Worldpoint.

***Registration begins at 7:45 am. Class begins promptly at 8:00 am. Late arrivals will not be accommodated unless approved by the program coordinator.

The goal of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support course is to provide the learner with:  Information needed to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest.  The cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize infants and children in respiratory failure, shock or cardiopulmonary arrest.

Target Audience:  Pediatricians, house staff, emergency physicians, family physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists and other healthcare providers who are responsible for the well being of infants and children.
